On 29 May, 2013 at 7:00 pm, the A.R.F. Zavarian Student Association hosted an information session with the Goguikian Foundation with the aim of spreading awareness about the public sector to the Armenian Youth, in the Punig Hall of the Aztag daily newspaper.

The Executive Director Mrs. Soheila Hayek welcomed the attendees and talked about the reason of why the Foundation is committed to encourage the youth to become public servants of the Lebanese Armenian Community through public sector careers. Hayek stressed that “You are the wasta that you need!”

Next was a talk by Dr. Berj Hatjian the General Director of the Ministry of the Environment, who talked about his personal experience, and the benefits that the public sector holds. Hatjian led a fruitful discussion and heard the sincere worries that the attendees had, and proposed reasonable answers.

Last but not least Ms. Rima Kheirallah from the Civil Service Board presented about the different levels in the public sector and the type of examination needed to enter.

This was a small gathering, with a few, but involved and focused aspiring leaders.
