The Goguikian Foundation held its inaugural ceremony at the UNESCO Palace on May 18, 2010, in the presence of over 200 people, including high-ranking government officials, members of parliament, presidents and representatives of universities, as well as members of The Goguikian Foundation community. The Foundation signed agreements of cooperation with the participating universities.

His Holiness Aram I Keshishian, Catholicos of the Holy See of Cilicia of the Armenian Orthodox Church; the High Reverend Megerdich Karagoezian, head of the Armenian Evangelical Church; as well as representatives of the Armenian Catholic Church were also in attendance.

  

Minister of State Jean Oghassabian representing President of the Lebanese Republic Michel Sleiman and Prime Minister Saad Hariri, and mp Hagop Pakradonian representing President of the Parliament Nabih Berri, as well as members of The Goguikian Foundation’s Executive Board and Advisory Committee welcomed the guests, including the heads of the three Armenian Churches’ school councils, ministers, parliamentarians, dignitaries and community leaders, as well as friends and family members of the Goguikian family.

The event opened with the remarks by the Executive Director of the Foundation, Mrs. Soheila Hayek, who welcomed the audience and explained in detail the activities and goals of the Foundation
