On Friday December 16, 2016 The Goguikian Foundation organized its 5th annual AL BAYAN AWARDS NIGHT having the General Director of SODETEL Mr. Patrick Farajian as the guest of honor.

Among the presents were president of Haigazian University Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian, Secretary General of the Higher Council on Privatization, and a member of the Executive Board of the Foundation Mr. Ziad Hayek and a Board member of the Foundation Mrs. Mireille Khanamirian, school principals, teachers, students and other honorable guests.

During the event, 40 students from the secondary cycles of 13 Lebanese-Armenian high schools got awarded for their excellence in the Arabic language during the academic year 2015 – 2016. All students received awards from The Goguikian Foundation and gifts from SODETEL.

The 3 Winners of AL BAYAN ESSAY COMPETITION 2016 were:

First place: Lea Habibian from Armenian Catholic Hripsimiantz High School

Second place: Vahakn Tchelderian from AGBU Tarouhi Hovagimian High School

Third place: Perla Basset from the Armenian Evangelical High School – Kantari.

The principal of Hripsimiantz high school Sister Arminé Magarossian received the AL BAYAN trophy which is usually kept by the school of the winner for one academic year, but since it is the third time that Hripsimiantz high school wins the AL BAYAN Competition, this time it will be theirs to keep.
