The AL BAYAN Awards Night was held at the Haigazian University Auditorium in the presence of members of the Executive Board of the Foundation, His Excellency Minister Oghassabian, Rev. Dr. Paul Haidostian the President of the Haigazian University, Mr. Ziad Hayek the General Secretary of the High Council on Privatization and Partnership and Seta Hadeshian. Attending also where, Mrs. Flavie Goguikian, Mrs. Soheila Hayek the Executive Director of the Foundation, high school principals from the 13 Armenian High Schools, students and their families.

Melkon Eleydjian, one of the Goguikian Foundation scholars who holds a degree in Economics from AUB, gave the opening speech. Melkon spoke about his experience with the Foundation and he encouraged the students to take excelling at the Arabic language very seriously.

The Guest Speaker, Ms. Houry Der- Sarkissian, who had recently been appointed Inspector General, followed Melkon at the podium. She encouraged the audience to take part in the public sector and do their citizen duty towards their country Lebanon and serve the people.

Afterwards all students of 10th-12th grades with the highest scores in Arabic received Awards from The Goguikian Foundation and a valuable gift from SODETEL.

The Ceremony included an amazing artistic pause with the Pianist Ari Wartanian who played Feyrouziat.

After that, the results of the AL BAYAN ESSAY COMPETITION were declared, which came as follows:

First Place: Elie Malkhasian – Hripsimiantz College
Second Place: Rita Mardirossian – Armenian Evangelical Central High School
Third Place: Gassia Derderian– Harboyan High School

The Vice President of Hripsimiantz College Mr. Garbis Kavasakalian was invited to receive the AL BAYAN school award, and we should mention that Hripsimiantz College won ALBAYAN Trophy for the fourth year and which will remain on his school campus till next year’s awards night.
