In his message, AUB President, Dr. Peter F. Dorman, said the Goguikian initiative will be beneficial to several groups: to talented and motivated students that want to pursue high-quality university education but who lack the necessary financial resources, as well as to the universities themselves that seek to attract students from diverse backgrounds and outlooks.

Dorman added that the new agreement will also contribute to “the noble and worthy goal of benefiting Lebanon and its civil society by targeting these scholarships towards students who intend to work in the public sector and social services in Lebanon.”

He then praised the late Jean Goguikian’s dedication to public service for the good of the Lebanese-Armenian community and the country as a whole, adding that “AUB is proud to be a partner with this foundation named in his honor and to help in carrying on his legacy of dedicated service.”
